Summer reading chart

http://www.4shared.com/file/Fg2TYHLt/Reichle_family_summer_reading_.html

I can't get the link to work so you will have to copy and paste. Sorry!

I created a summer reading chart (well, copied it from one I saw online) so I can keep track of my kids reading this summer...

I left our name off the chart and left the reward spot blank on the bottom of each week so that it can be customized. It's an excel file.

Kevin decided he needed to start practicing his scary look for when the boys start knocking in two years. Think this will scare them off? =D

Happy 14th Birthday Nicole!!

I can't believe my little girl is getting to be so grown up! She is old enough to go to the church dances now. Holy cow! And in two short years... dating? Aaaahhhhh!!!!! I think I liked it better when she was in kindergarten ;)

Here are a couple pictures from her day today. I made her a Hello Kitty cake and I made a hung a happy birthday banner on her bedroom door to greet her when she woke up. And of course, the all anticipated birthday can! She discovered recees peanut butter cups, microwave popcorn, air heads, two bottles of nail polish, a hello kitty sucker, a teeny beanie baby, and a lint roller inside her can. Oh and a very large jaw breaker. I'll have to sneak a picture of her eating it the next time I see her with it!

Now we are just waiting for some family and friends to come over and have her favorite dinner with us. String cheese manicotti, salad and garlic breadsticks and the hello kitty cake with chocolate or vanilla ice cream!

Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!

Christmas pictures

I finally got the kids back out today for some pictures. The weather was a little stormy but it held off until we were almost done! Now maybe I can print them out and send them off with my christmas cards (that will be late, darn it!)

I'm still not 100% happy with the picture of the kids walking down the road towards the mountain and will probably retake it after Christmas. And I think I'll retake the header picture too so that I can hang one up on the wall without a santa hat on Ethan. It's cute for the christmas cards though....

Merry Christmas everyone!

Birthday Cans

Susan asked so I thought I would just make a post in case anyone else was wondering too :)

I went to the paint store and bought some empty paint cans. Then I decorated them with scrapbook paper and whatever pictures or embellishments I wanted and filled them with little things like toy cars, favorite candy bars, pez dispensers, a beanie baby... just whatever little cheap things I think my kids would like. Then I leave it on their bed for them to open when they get home from school.

Almost like a christmas stocking but in a paint can and for their birthday :D

Birthday present from heaven

I woke up this morning to the most amazing sunrise. I rushed outside to take a picture and then I woke Jacob up and told him that Heavenly Father had sent him a gift for his birthday. His little face just lit up! He was in such a good mood all morning. He even told his brothers and sister that Jesus made the sunrise just for him today :)

Happy Birthday Jacob!

This is a couple days worth of pictures. We had a birthday party for Jacob on Sunday while Veronica was still here. I made him a guitar cake. The cake looked awesome but for some reason didn't taste too good :( I think I cooked it a little longer than I needed to and it was kind of dry. Oh well. Then today I decorated and made his birthday can and left it on his bed. And I also made him another cake. Everyone deserves to blow out candles on their actual birthday! ;)

Jacob, I can't believe you are 9 years old! We love you!!!

My little runaway

Ethan got mad at me for sending him to his room earlier for being mean to Jacob. So, he packed his suitcase with a pillow, a rubics cube and some playdough and told me he was leaving. I stopped him at the door and told him I needed to take one last picture so I would always remember what he looks like and he stormed off out the door pulling his suitcase behind him. I let him get down the street and then I told Luke to go convince him to come back. He came back pretty quick. But, he told me he was going to live in the garbage can down the street! I asked him what he was going to do when the garbage man came and dumped the can in the truck and crushed him and he said he would be a pile of bones. I then asked him if he thought he had planned this whole thing very well. He told me no and crawled up in my lap for a snuggle. Silly kid!

She's here!

My sister finally made it for a visit! She is the only one I haven't seen since moving out here almost 3 years ago. The boys had fun waiting and waiting for her plane to land. And of course they had to take her some flowers ;) I almost didn't recognize her since Nicole is taller than she is now. Last time we saw her Nicole was shorter =) I'm sure I'll have more pictures to post before she goes back home....

My little ham

Just had to post this picture of my silly little man :)
